You can read this novel even if you don't know anything about 'Raiden Shogun'.
Also, for the people who know Raiden but haven't watched One Piece, you too can read it without problems because I'm going to make it easy to understand and you don't need previous knowledge of the original story.
Ok so first I'm only trying to help this novel here it's got some real potential with the premise but I'd strongly reccomend a rewrite as I feel like this one's losing most of us before it really gets going. Perhaps move some chapters to later for flashback style when they are needed to explain things. Anyways my reasoning for this follows in my main review body.
I couldn't get past chapter 11 and had to stop from the sheer amount of negativity in this one. I'm sure it gets better later on but tasteful tragedy is a very hard thing to get right this is just too much and I sincerely hope the author rewrites this novel. Honestly this one really drove me off with themes of r*pe and potential MC slavery. If I had to target exactly why I left it's when I realised what was going to happen and had enough that's as far as I can go without spoiling things for anyone who wants to try to power through, I have failed perhaps some will succeed and even be rewarded for their efforts.
Ps. To the author I strongly reccomend checking out a game called Signalis or the anime cowboy bebop (not the live action 😆) to see what I mean by tasteful tragedy those helped me in my authoring career to write perhaps the best novel I've ever done. The real key I'd like to point out here is timing of when and how much tragedy is done.
