What to expect:

The mc is kind of overpowered, but not in a typical way. And definitely not in an obvious way. He does get more overpowered as the story develops though. Again, not in a normal way.

Yaric is central, but many side characters are very important. The world doesn’t revolve around him.

There will not be any training montages. Power is gained through effort, and training and learning is part of the journey. Some will likely consider the story ‘slow burn’ – the mc is discovered to have magical potential, and then spends many years studying. Lore is revealed as the mc learns. The journey is the story.

The mc’s journey will include training missions, fulfilling appeals (effectively ‘adventuring’), diplomatic missions, small scale skirmishes and large-scale wars encompassing multiple nations. Mysteries and crimes will have to be solved along the way. There will be monsters, creatures hiding in the dark, and apocalyptic behemoths. Oh, and there will be dragons. Very important dragons. They’re coming!

There will be combat, martial arts, different kinds of magic, and various forms of crafting. Different nations have different cultures; politics, trade, and wars between them are important. Battles aren't just groups of soldiers slugging it out. Ok, sometimes they are...

It might take a while to get there, but there are overarching plots over and above the minor plots and story arcs. The main plot starts right at the beginning.

The world:

It's less medieval and more Roman Empire/Ancient China, if they both had magic and 1000’s of years of extra development. Just like they had occupations such as administrators, secretaries, lawyers, architects, acrobats, firemen and accountants, so too does Malvec and the surrounding nations. The sapient population includes humans, elves, dwarves, draugr and lichs. Wildlife includes ogres and vardøgers, trolls and gnolls, hellcats and nightwing bats. And much more!

Technology is more advanced, due to 2 main differences between those empires and nations like Malvec
Time: Civilization has been around longer - by thousands of years. Mass production is common. Assembly lines have been developed. Various forms of schools and education are widespread. Steam power, internal combustion engines and electricity are practically the only things missing. Essentially power generation and storage.
Food: Mages drastically enhance food production, making populations both larger and more diverse. A much larger % of the population take up other jobs.

Every fifty years, the races of the dark god pray towards their Shard of Evil, a remnant of the evil god, who was said to want to tear the world asunder.
These races pray towards this shard in hopes that it will bestow upon their race a champion, a leader for their people, to lead them towards their glory.

Five years before the new Demon King’s awakening, there was a prophecy. That this year was the ten-thousandth year of Demon King summoning.
And that this Demon King would be the Omega Demon King, the literal incarnation of the evil old god.

A galaxy-wide creator of life found its purpose for the first time since its birth eons ago. It had wanted to see how its most beloved child would live.

However, she has died, and the one who killed her has gained even more strength.

This divine being became enraged. It had never felt such pure hatred before. It behaved a bit recklessly as a result.

It called upon an ancient power, far above it in rank. This supreme authority chose to fulfill the deity's request for vengeance. But, He sent His cute little children in His stead.

His two inexperienced kids, named Ajax and Shaula, were born as humans on the planet Earth. On the last day of their 12th grade, they are plucked from Earth by their Father and sent to a new world called Omicron. Here, they will face the greatest challenge of their lives so far, and take up the burden of their birthright.

Finding and killing a god should be the easy part of the story.

Sure, he thought, who doesn't love pizza? But do angels, demons, and big ass wolves eat pizza as well?

Gabriel was paid for his delivery, but the payment he got wasn't exactly what he hoped for, because for all his efforts, the man was rewarded with a lizard... and a world expecting a little too much from him than he was comfortable with.

Gabe will find himself in a different world, a world from which all Earth's current problems stem and a world to which he has more ties than he was ever told.

This story is a slow burn; I wanted to write something that felt at least probable, not the usual: man appears in a new world, everyone helps him, and he's fit and ready for the job!

Gabriel will need time to adapt to his new reality, as you'll definitely notice in the first chapters. However, when the action hits, it hits hard.
