One of the best gender bender stories I have read, it is the opposite of what you would expect from a gender bender, so it does not fall into clichés, a good story that makes you understand how a trans person feels.
The explanations are quite innovative as well as interesting, this story says "read me" in all aspects.
So read it.

This story is rather heavy when it comes to the emotions that an invested reader will go through. But it's well written and highly enjoyable! Come, read it!

DetectiveRed has crafted a lovely story with Newly Not Cis, one that I have absolutely enjoyed reading these past few weeks. So I figured it was high time that I should leave a review.
This story is a slow boil of tension, joy, and change. As someone who deals with a lot of teenagers, the characters seem realistic and lifelike, even if I don't think I'd like to meet all of them.
I love that this is an inversion on the typical trans/gender bender story. It starts on the same point, miraculous transformation, but rather than being met with open arms it's greeted with dysphoria and panic. It doesn't rest on being clever subversion, however. It uses that start to tell a story of internal change. Of coming to terms with your identity. And hopefully, James will be able to finally realize that he can fight for who he wants to be. He just has to learn a little more first.

I love the way this story is written.
The perspective of the two protagonists is balanced very well. I especially love the attention to dysphoria and adjustment.
It's such an interesting reversal of how people generally transition.
Great job!
